Deuteronomy 28 is a chapter which is seldom referred to in commentaries and Christian literature, and probably never preached upon from the pulpit. Yet it is a key to understanding how God dealt with Israel in the Old Testament.
Not only that, it is essential to a right understanding of some of the things Christ said to the Jews when He was upon this earth, and to appreciating why certain events happened to that nation in the first century AD.
