The main themes in The Song of Songs  are romantic  love, beauty, courtship and commitment.

In contrast to Solomon, with sixty queens, eighty concubines and virgins without number, the major theme of the book is faithfulness in love for one person only.

The couple expressing their love for one another are betrothed, and in ancient Israel that was virtually the same as marriage.

Their relationship and love for each other develop throughout The Song, and there is much that modern-day society can learn from them.
