In his writings John skillfully
uses contrasting imagery to great effect:
- truth and lies
- light and darkness
- life and death
He does this to compare the way of
Jesus Christ with the way of the world.
In his epistles he uses the term
‘the truth’ in a very particular sense, to mean a specific body
of revelation. This booklet is a discussion of what John means
by ‘the truth’. He calls on his readers to believe and act upon
‘the truth’, for to do so is the key to an unbreakable
relationship with God through the Lord Jesus.
