First he brings Galatians to life by considering the historical interpretation of each passage. Then, once that has been established, he has applied the teaching of that passage to Christians today.
It is important that we understand first what these writings meant to the people to whom they were initially written, before we seek to apply them to ourselves. If we do no do this, then we are in danger of misapplying the Scriptures.
