Many Christians wish to emulate their Lord and Saviour when, in the Garden of Gethsemane, the evening before His crucifixion, He prayed earnestly, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42).
Many Christians, the vast majority, would dearly love to follow and put into practice the will of God, but some seem to have great difficulty in ascertaining what God’s will is for them. On the other hand, others have found that through studying the Scriptures they have little difficulty in knowing the will of God. The problem for them is doing it.
The aim of this booklet is to go through the Bible looking at such expressions such as the will of the Lord, God’s will etc. and seeing what the Bible says on the subject. By doing this the author’s desire is that many will come to a better understanding of the will of God and will be better equipped to do it, thus gaining peace of mind and living a life more pleasing to our heavenly Father.
