Collection: Athol Walter

Athol Walter was born in November 1932 at Albany, Western Australia, of Salvationist parents. He was educated at Bunbury High School and, in 1954, entered The Salvation Army Training College for Officers in Melbourne, Victoria. In 1957 he married Eveline Palstra, who was also a Salvation Army Officer.

Their ministry was mostly in country towns of Victoria, but in January 1967 they resigned their ministry in The Salvation Army and moved to New South Wales to be part of the dispensational group in Sydney.

After the death of the group’s leader, Athol was invited to become the leader. In subsequent years, he was instrumental in the group becoming the Berean Bible Fellowship of Australia. He has been its President and the editor of its magazine Spiritual Blessings. He now enjoys full retirement in New South Wales.
