Modern, industrialised man likes to know when things happened and the order in which they happened. This was not the case in New Testament times, and it is not the case in many cultures of today’s world.
The author has taken Matthew’s Gospel as being the one which has events mainly in chronological order and, with the use of many valuable tables, tied what is said in the other three to Matthew. The result gives the student a very good idea of when things happened and the order in which their occurred.
