The Clear and The Confusing in Romans
With Michael Penny
2.00—5.30 Saturday June 6, 2026 with refreshments served between sessions.
The Upper Room Fellowship (TURF), 6A Risca Road, Crosskeys, NP11 7DG.
(5-6 miles north of Newport)
Some parts of Romans are very clear and form the basis of much of evangelical Christianity.
However there are others parts which some people find quite confusing. For example:
|
1. Why had the gospel to be preached to the Jews first? 2. Why were the Gentiles saved to provoke the Jews to envy? 3. Why were the Jews to have glory, and honour and peace first, before the Gentiles? 4. And why were the Jews to get 'trouble and distress' first? 5. And what was this 'trouble and distress? 6. Why had the Jews an advantage, as Romans 3 says, and is that still the situation today? 7. Are Gentiles still being grafted into the olive tree of Israel - a tree that was cut down at the end of Acts? 8. And how many is 'the full number' of Gentiles? 9. What is the secret or mystery Paul refers to in Romans 16:25? |
There is no charge for this study afternoon but there will be an opportunity to make a donation.
